Can you believe that it is November already? Where has this year gone?
When the calendar rolls to November, it is time to begin to start thinking about the holidays; as time tends to fly even more quickly this time of the year. Each year there is always the challenge of trying to come up with new and creative gift giving ideas!
We are often asked the question from client’s families – “What can I get for my parents for the holidays?” We put this challenge to our staff a couple of years ago and came up with a list of ideas that you can utilize this year for your senior loved ones. We would love to share some of the most popular ideas with you.
CAREGiver Assistance from Home Instead Senior Care. We have certificates available and can mail one to you or directly to your loved one in any denomination. We can also just take off of the bill directly if this is easier. This is a fabulous gift for anyone that is a current client but it is also great for anyone thinking that someone may need some home care services. It is a way to try services without a monetary obligation by the potential client.
Other types of gift certificates. If you know of a favorite restaurant, somewhere they like to get their hair done or even utility companies offer certificated to cover a portion or a full month’s bill. Pamper your loved one with a certificate to something you know they would enjoy but wouldn’t get for themselves.
Personalized Stationery. This is always a great gift for someone of any age! Adding in some stamps or even some blank greeting cards for their use is always helpful, too.
Large Print Clock or Calendars. Usually the bigger the better works. This way, they can display them prominently so it will be easy to see the time or a place to write down appointments and any upcoming events.
Bird Feeder and Seed. This is a great gift – especially if there is a window near where they like to regularly sit throughout the day. What a better way to get close to nature!
Framed Photo. Have a favorite photo enlarged and framed. Everyone loves to have some wonderful updated photos to enjoy!
Classics on Tape. This is a great gift for those that like to read but are having more difficulty with their site. There are many types of books, newspapers and magazines that come “on tape” now.
